In the summer, this lush nature is conducent to practicing a host of activities. Canoeing is king in the wildlife reserve of La Vérendrye, as well as on the Aigle, Désert, Gatineau, St-Joseph rivers, etc. Ponton rides, sailing and kayaking are practiced on the large lakes which cover the region while providing welcome infrasctructures for the nautical sports. Beautiful yellow sand beaches attract swimming and sunbathing. Bicycle lovers are blessed with the Vallée de la Gatineau bicycle path. Nature lovers can borrow the managed walking paths in the parks and wildlife reserves. ATV enthusiasts can travel on the 850 km long trails. Golf lovers will find high value gold courses will all the necessary requirements. In the fall, the region highlights beautiful colours during the hunting season.
